Hello 2012
Allo Allo!
Firstly, Happy New Year to all of you!!
We are soooo behind on visiting and blogging and its all thanks to the momster..
Anyways we're back and hopefully she'll be able to keep up and get blogging again else i would have to seriously consider hiring somefurry to replace her! If only the keyboard keys are not so close to one another, my paws are not suitable for this type of work..
Our new year celebration was a blast! I'm sure if you've visited Zackt's blog, you'd be able to see some of the actions on New Year's Eve. Mommy was quite occupied with cooking and serving plus entertaining that she didnt have time to snap pics. Thankfully Zackt's mommy brought along her flashy box.
Friends and fur buddies came over to our place for food and watched the fireworks at midnight. We pups get our share of the yummy cheese platter and managed to steal some of the beef stew which was left unattended..! :))
Just before midnight, everyone had chilled soba (buckwheat noodles), which is a Japanese custom. It is usually eaten as the last item on New Year's Eve. It symbolises the passing of the old year and the looking forward to the coming year. In Japanese culture, soba noodles have always symbolized good fortune.
On New Year's day, we had rice cake breakfast. We just chilled at home and mom got a little sick but is doing better now. That left the dadster doing the cooking and cleaning around the house, while i did my part, which was lying down next to mommy, making sure she's all warm and comfy. :)
Here's some of the pics which we managed to snag;
mommy's home made beef stew
some flowers for the house
korean pancakes, made by Zackt's mommy
mixed salad...
handrolled sushi, made by mom's Japanese friend
me in my annual red bow tie
Morning sun on New Year's Day
This was taken at the Japanese Association.
It's called an Ikebana. (flower arrangement)
Kadomatsu (pine gate)
Traditional Japanese decoration for the New Year, usually in pairs, placed in front of the house, to welcome ancestral spirits and to bring good luck and prosperity.
Mom and dad lunched on Japanese cuisine...(without me!)
Our morning walk today;
Here's wishing that the new year will bring abundance good health and happiness to all!!
Cheers,
Maxx and mommy
